Paris 2012, Day Six: The Revenge of the Louvre

The Louvre is quite simply too large to be seen in a single day. This is our second trip through, and it was well worth a second visit.

10: The Louvre has a really large Egyptian section. We didn't spend much time there, but this shot of a few stelea was too much to pass up.

11: We wandered through the Islamic art section. This is an amazing Barberini vase.

12: It seemed like we kept coming back to this urn. After La Nymphe, this was my second-favourite piece, mostly because of the wonderfully interesting lighting on it. That's appropriate, as the figures depicted hereon are the Pleiades.

13: 'Remember to look up' was a refrain that ran constantly through our heads. Some of the grandest pieces were on the ceilings.
