Paris 2012, Day Two

Elly and I took a trip to Europe! The first day was mostly lost to jet-lag and dealing with a cancelled hotel reservation, but the second day we went out and played at being tourists!

3: A peace memorial is probably not the best place in the world to perform Naihanchi, but, well…

12: We went for a bus tour of the city, and we passed the dome of the L'Hotel national des Invalides, which was stunning in the sunlight.

13: Later that afternoon, we took the Metro (which is awesome, by the way) over to the Parc des Buttes Chaumont to watch a Guignol show. The park was amazingly cool. This is a manmade waterfall that apparently handles the rain runoff for the area.

14: The whole park is in a valley, with a hill in the middle. On the hill is a folly. And we (of course) climbed the path up to it. This is a great park.

15: Lots of flowers there too--this is a snowball bush.

16: Never seen a snowball bush before? Well, I think you can figure out why it gets its name.
