We started off the day by visiting the petroglyphs at Puako, then finished it with a night dive to see the mantas. Unfortunately, the mantas didn't show up, so after 20 minutes of sitting on the bottom our divemaster took us on a tour of the area. We saw an Undulated moray eel hunting (it even made a few strikes at fish while we were watching), and a bunch of sleeping urchins (their spines relax into a five-pointed configuration when they're asleep!). Our charter boat wouldn't start, so we got towed back to the dock by one of the other manta-watching boats at the site. On the ride back, we saw occasional speckles of phosphorescence in the wake.
